Judo (柔道, “the gentle way”) is a Japanese martial art and Olympic sport founded by Kanō Jigorō in 1882. Players use balance, timing and leverage to throw a partner to the mat, then control them with pins and holds on the ground.
Because it rewards technique over strength, people of every age, size and level train together safely. Beyond the physical skills, judo builds the discipline, respect and confidence that carry well beyond the dojo.
